Introducing
Imagine an annoying little kid, begging his parents every day for a drum set. That was me! After 2.5 years of relentless nagging, they finally caved and bought me a drum set from the classifieds section of the Spectator. Unfortunately, all the bands in my high school already had drummers, so after a year, I traded my drumsticks for a guitar and jumped headfirst into a punk band with my friends.
Weekends were a blur of shows in Hamilton and Toronto, guided by MapQuest printouts to navigate the cities. When it was time to apply for post-secondary education, I made the last-minute decision to study jazz at Mohawk College. That's when my teaching practice began. I started teaching at local music studios while still in school. I also did a brief stint in science at McMaster University, where I was one of the founding members of the Music Cognition Lab & spent most of my time practicing for my elective: playing with the McMaster Jazz Big Band.
Later, I took my talents to cruise ships, where I played drums with incredible musicians from around the world. This experience allowed me to tick off over 17 countries from my travel list while sight-reading shows seven days a week. In 2014, I returned to Hamilton, initially planning to move to New York City or LA. But after seeing the world, I realized how much Hamilton had to offer and decided to stay. Since then, I've been firmly rooted here, dedicating my time to creating resources for my students, learning new music for performances, and creating my original works.

We started with Glenn over a year ago, just before the pandemic changed everything. So we only had a few in-person lessons for guitar before moving to virtual. My son had never touched a guitar in his life before then and now he can’t put it down, Glenn has been so inspiring for him. 4 months ago, we started my other son with drum lessons, all virtually with Glenn, and it’s been amazing! Glenn is very professional and always keeps my sons engaged. The virtual recitals are so great!
I strongly recommend Glenn as a music teacher. I've been taking drum lessons from Glenn for a couple of months and really could not be more impressed with every aspect his teaching and approach. Glenn has a real knack for building lessons which very effectively improve playing and technique while simultaneously being a lot of fun. I've seen a pronounced improvement in my playing and look forward to our lessons every week. Additionally, Glenn is also both incredibly friendly and extremely professional. Also, Glenn is one absolutely amazing drummer!
Had Glenn and a friend play at our charity run 'Running For Rachael', and they were great! Independent and set up all their own equipment. Both were very kind guys and easy to work with. He even stayed late so could use his PA system to close off the event. Will definitely be calling him for next year’s event!
I highly recommend Glenn to anyone who is looking for a music teacher. He is very knowledgeable, encouraging, and relatable. He teaches using popular and current music which keeps the kids engaged and interested. Both my sons really look forward to their guitar lessons each week.
Glenn has been teaching my 9-year-old son guitar and he’s great at what he does. He is wonderful with kids and very inspiring. My son loves his lessons and is happy to sit down with his guitar and practice. I highly recommend Glenn as a music teacher, he is talented, patient and knows how to talk to kids.
Glenn is a pro. He does his homework, he's quick to respond to any messages, he has a solid groove, he can play to a click, he's willing to put the extra time in to polish a project...I could go on. It's hard to find people who have a good business sense, are GREAT players, and are fun to hang out with. Glenn definitely has all three and it's a pleasure to work with him.
